It is with great sadness that RAN notes the death of Jim Robertson of the International Communist League and Spartacist League of the U.S. His passing was reported in the April 19th issue of Workers Vanguard.

Robertson ranks among the great heroes of revolutionary Marxism and the worldwide workingclass struggle for socialist liberation. He assumed the preeminent role in leading the revolutionary Marxist movement out of the disarray into which it had declined in the early 1960s. Robertson’s guidance in the understanding and culture of revolutionary Marxism, particularly during the 1960s and decades afterwards, was invaluable to a number of young socialists whose thinking was evolving in a leftward direction. His mentorship remains an inspiration for many who knew him personally.

Comprehensively, Jim Robertson’s leadership has been instrumental in the successful effort to preserve the legacy of Bolshevism of the Russian Revolution and in further rebuilding, developing, and buttressing its core principles and vitality on a global scale. RAN mourns his loss and honors his memory.
